I’m still kind of baffled by this casting choice, but what do I know anyway.

The trailer premiered on Yahoo Movies today but has been on YouTube since last week. It’s due out October 23.

*SPOILER ALERT* she dies

We here at Brundlefly On The Wall may be primarily a movie interested outfit but our index and middle finger are placed firmly on the carotid artery of the music scene too. Here is what’s hot in the clubs this week.

Can’t tell you how much I love this song, really hot beat, David Banner chalks up another hit record.

Yes, I’m aware Michael Jackson is an accused child molester so it might seem tasteless and inappropriate to post this, but this video is awesome. In much the same way that Casino Royale did, this re-imagining of the Thriller franchise really outstrips the original and revitalizes a dead (zing!) franchise.

Garbage Day?!

If the above photo doesn’t get your heart racing and a certain member doesn’t become just a little completely engorged than you better put down that textbook and gain some real street knowledge, nerd.

I’m here today to enact a program to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to witness the greatness that is Eric Freeman’s turn as the psychotic murderer Ricky Caldwell in Silent Night, Deadly Night Part II. I will call this program No Child Left Behind.

I will not ruin the plot of the film by giving away the fact that it is thirty minutes of scenes from the first Silent Night, Deadly Night and then roughly forty five minutes of semi related scenes in which Eric Freeman utters nonsensical dialogue and then murders someone due to a small infraction of our normative social rules.

Here’s a taste, let it wash over the taste buds, cleanse the pallet and then enjoy over again:

After his stirring turn as Ricky Caldwell, Eric Freeman went on to star in countless five more movies and TV shows. He starred as “Guy #1” in a 1989 episode of Ghost Writer, later he appeared as “Harbor Officer” in one episode of Valerie, and his career culminated with a timeless portrayal of presumed hoodlum “Johnny Strong” in a single episode of the 1992 show Dangerous Curves (ed. note: no video could be found of any of these gutsy, heartfelt performances).

Eric Freeman has been mostly quiet since 1992 and is no doubt planning a triumphant return to the screen. Here is the most recent photo we could find of Mr. Freeman:

Genius. Mr. Freeman is clearly challenging our preconceived notions of race by taking on this role as Nelson Mandela.

More Taglines Please!

If you can't decide which catchy tagline best suits your film, use both. Better safe than sorry.

I was perusing through the Blockbuster family section when I stumbled upon this gem. I love a catchy tagline for a movie, so imagine my joy to find two taglines on the cover of this movie. I thought, “Whoa. All this time I’ve been settling for one cheesy movie tagline when I could have had two.” It’s like in Dumb & Dumber when Harry realizes Lloyd has two pairs of gloves. The second tagline is the warm pair of gloves I’ve been needing all these years.

Example:

Booooring

Add a few more taglines and you have:

"Whoa! That's Way More Exciting and Intriguing. I'm definitely seeing this!" -guy in theater

Creepiest Thing You’ll See Today

I don’t even really want to write at length about this movie, mostly because this movie poster is so creepy. Martin Short was forty years old when this movie was filmed. Why? Was there a terrible shortage of child actors? Did the producers not watch some early daily footage and say, “Yikes. That’s a forty man year old man pretending to be a ten year old. We didn’t think this one all the way through.”

Somehow this movie didn’t bother me when I was younger but after seeing it recently I wonder what other memories I’ve been suppressing. Maybe I’m overreacting but I find this poster deeply unsettling.

Oh God

Chris Kattan appears to have somehow got a new show on ABC this fall. This economy really is sparing no one when a broadcasting giant has to turn to the likes of Mr. Kattan.
